Start: May 21, 2009
End Date: September 1, 2009
Start and end dates are non-negotiable. The last day to arrive for employment May 21, 2009. Student must be at job site. All students may wait up to 7 days before starting work.
Position/ Job Title: Attends to Lo-Q guests at rides and/or sell Flash pass units to guest at designated locations throughout the park by performing the following duties: Registers Flash pass units, receive cash, credit cards, traveller’s checks, and other authorized forms of payment.
Starting wage: $8.00 hour
Avg. hours per week: 32 Overtime: hours worked over 40 are paid at regular rate based on overtime exemption. Historically students were able to work more then 40 hours per week. Frequency of pay: First pay check may take up to 3 weeks depending time of arrival, every two weeks thereafter, distributed on Mondays.
Physical Demands:
Employee is regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Required to frequently walk and sit; must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Grooming Standards:
Both Genders: No facial or body piercing, long hair must be pulled back. Men: No full beards for, only moustaches and neatly varying "goatees", no earrings.
Dress Code:
Uniforms are provided for free. Must be returned at end of program.
Bonus:
1. 40% off retail and food purchases as long as the employee is out of uniform.
2. Free park admission to all employees.
3. In July the park issues 2 free tickets to the park for all lessee employees. (Note: This was last years rule and it has changed each year, so may change again).
4. Free flash pass for all Lo-Q and H&C employees on their days off as long as it isn’t a day we would sell out of them.
Employee shifts
There are three shifts that will apply to all employees. A morning, swing, and night shift. Hours are:
Morning shift- 9 am – 5 pm.
Swing shift- 12 noon – 8 pm.
Night shift- 1 pm – 9 pm., 2 pm. – 10 pm., or 3 pm. – 11 pm. (depending on park closing during the season). Park opening hours and shifts may change. Please check website of Six Flags Park for hours of operation.
Miscellaneous
There is a possibility of employees travelling to assist at the New England Park.
* If travel to and from these parks become necessary Lo-Q will pay for hotel, travel, and per diem accommodations.
Is employee housing available: YES
Is Sublease Required: YES Student must sign a minimum 3 month sub lease upon arrival and are responsible for rent for duration of sublease. Any time after sub lease is taken in 2 week increments (rent payment). If student abandons sub lease for any reason, they are still responsible for the rent for complete sub lease and will lose their housing deposit.
Housing Deposit: $100 refundable, less a $50 cleaning fee. Participant must sign Conditions of the Work and Travel program.
Cost of Housing: $80.00 per week. 3-4 share camp trailers. Each trailer has a small bathroom and kitchen. Camp ground facilities and pool are available to employees. Utilities included. No linens or kitchen utensils provided. If utilities exceed allotted budget, student will be charged. Students must pay first month’s rent, housing deposit and sign Sub-Lease Housing Agreement upon arrival.
Transportation: transportation at rate of $6.00/day.

Marcelo, Here is what Q-1 Visa all about. a) the workers must be able to communicate in English fairly b) they must be out going and neat c) they can sustain heat from the sun since its an out side work at an amusement park( all locations are hot , hot , hot) d) they are required to do daily cultural program that we created for them based on the application we submitted to the USCIS e) they have to wear traditional costume while performing the daily cultural event( any Q-1 don´t participate in cultural event will be terminated) \ f) their actual function for the company are photographers i n an amusement park and while they are doing the cultural event, they are on the clock and getting paid g) they will be paid $ 8.00 an hour plus 25 cents bonus per hour if they complete the contract and don´t call/late/not in uniform to work h) they are guaranteed at least average 32 hours a week for the duration of the contract. i) they have to pay all applicable taxes j) they have to pay for their housing and transportation as well as their food k) housing depending on location is between $ 282.25 to $ 345.00 a month ; L) transportation depending on location also is between $12.50 to $18.00 a week m) average food expenses based on Q-1 workers this season is $ 70.00 a month on the high n) season starts March 15, to December 29, 2009 ( some close in November) o) possibility of change of employer while they are here to let them stay longer legally.(after the need of Kodak is met) Based on this info please compute whether its feasible for your applicants to travel under this program.
